James went missing at age 39, and was last seen leaving his mother’s house on July 13th, 2020, and told her he would see her later. Later on that day, James was seen at the Plaza Motel on The Island, driving a silver 2011 Ford Fiesta with Mississippi tag LTE 7723. It is believed that James met with foul play. In May 2021, Joseph Purcell, Alan Farley, Deborah Johnston, and Javaris Johnson were arrested in connection to the murder of Taylor. Despite several searches by law enforcement, search and recovery teams, and volunteers, neither Taylor nor his vehicle has been recovered at this time.
